Rolf Potts is a vagabond, a travel writer and author of Vagabonding and Marco Polo Didn't Go There
All of the issues, problems, concerns and fears most people place between them and their dreams are fears (false evidence appearing real). There were several months between my reading of Rolf's first book and the start of my journey. This was a perfect time for me to read Rolf's second book, Marco Polo Didn't Go There, which is a set of stories and revelations from ten years of travel adventure. For me this book was definitely fuel to the fire. Rolf tells of sneaking on to top secret movie sets in Thailand and learning Tantric sex techniques in an Indian ashram. This was just the type of stuff I was looking for.
A few months later I was off to set out an adventure of a lifetime with Rolf's first book in hand for reference. I spent two months huffing it through Europe with no plans to speak of and a medium sized backpack for the few sets of light clothes I had packed. The adventure started in London making stops in Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris, Tuscany, Budapest, Vienna and Berlin with many stops in between. I will never forget the times I spent hitchhiking through Germany, getting super lost super stoned and super scared in Amsterdam, or spending a beautiful week with a beautiful couple I randomly met in the beautiful Tuscan countryside.
Thank you Rolf for the nudge. Please enjoy the show my friends and may we never lose the urge to adventure. If you have stories please share:)
